I want to do it but don’t have time for it?

I want to go to the gym but don’t have time for it.
I want to learn Python but don’t have time for it.
I want to do this, I want to do that, but I don’t have time for it.

One statement that we all must have used at least once in our lives is – “I want to do it, but
don’t have time for it.” So why don’t we have time when we really want to do something? Is
it because we are too busy with our professional lives and building our careers? Or are we
too busy earning money? Or are we spending a lot of time commuting? We all have
thousands of reasons to convince ourselves to say that we want to do something but don’t
have time for it.

You might have noticed that I’ve used “we” in some statements. So who are “we” here? Is it
you and me? No! It’s the two personalities within us. One who says, “I want to do it,” and
this one is optimistic about doing many things. But there’s another one inside us who says, “I
don’t have time for it,” and this one is lazy, prefers the comfort zone, and wants to dominate
the optimistic one.

So it’s totally up to us whom we want to listen to – the optimistic one or the lazy one, who
dominates and convinces you not to do it.

You might be skeptical here about how we can solve this riddle. So what you need to do is
take a pen and paper, and draw two columns – one column named “I want to do it” and the
second column named “I don’t have time for it.” List down the items you want to do in the
first column, and once your list of “Want to Do” items is finished, start filling the second
column with statements that we don’t have time for. Trust me, there will be one item on
your “Want to Do” list where you will hesitate to write the statement “I don’t have time for
it.” That’s the one thing you need to do because it’s something you want to do, and you have
time for it.

Henceforth, do you still want to haunt yourself with the statement “I want to do it, but don’t
have time for it?”

Thanks for reading this post and ignoring your lazy self, who might have said to you in the
beginning that you don’t have time to read this.
